The Heart of Jonah Ministries
Sharing a message of faith, restoration, and the hope that anchors us through every storm
Saved at Sea: The Testimony that Launched a Mission

Jonah Ministries was founded by Michelle Hamilton-Cohen following a profound event where she survived three days lost at sea. This experience instilled in her a deep, personal understanding of God's unwavering faithfulness and the power of prayer. Today, she is devoted to sharing that anchor of hope with others facing their own spiritual and personal storms, guiding them toward healing and restoration.
Our Faith and Foundation
We are a non-denominational ministry centered on a belief in the love of God and the saving
power of Yeshua (Jesus). Our teachings focus on:
Messianic Fulfillment:
Centering on Yeshua (Jesus) as the promised Messiah.
Healing & Deliverance:
Providing spiritual resources to help overcome trauma, anxiety, and emotional distress.
The Power of Prayer:
Encouraging a vibrant, active relationship with God through conversation and study.
OUR JEWISH HERITAGE
My great great Grandfather and Grandmother originally fled Kiev, Ukraine in 1903, escaping persecution. They travelled to Scotland. My great Grandmother Esther Novak met Ben Cohen in Scotland and they married. In 1911 they took a 6 week boat voyage to New Zealand, where they had been granted immigration.

Esther became a famour dress designer, specializing in wedding dresses. To avoid discrimation in NZ, they hid their Jewish identity by changing their surname from Cohen to Cowan. This was relatively common during those times.
Throughout history our family has suffered for being Jewish and that has been difficult and tragic. Nevertheless, we are grateful that YAHWEH designated for us to be part of this lineage and be His 'KEEPERS OF THE BOOK' and a light to the gentile nations.

Teach me, O YAHWEH, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end. Give me understanding, and I will keep your Torah and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. (Psalms 119:33-35)
